Landslides and flooding close roads

LEGGETT – State Route 128 near the coast is closed for hours today about nine miles from State Route 1. Early this afternoon the river crested and started to drop. Route 1 also experienced closures, but the highway re-opened at 7 this morning after being closed off 12 miles west of Leggett. Debris from landslides and trees has to be cleared from the roadway, and Caltrans says their crews worked quickly and safely to restore the flow of traffic.
