Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- Check your freezer! Injuries have been reported by people who ate Stefano Foods’ Calzones. They say their mouths were cut while eating pepperoni five cheese calzones distributed by the North Carolina company. The product, packaged on Ma 23, has been found to contain shards of hard, sharp, clear plastic. More than 24,048 pounds of pepperoni five cheese calzones have now been recalled, because they were contaminated.

Subject to recall: May contain hard, sharp plastic

The USDA is concerned that some consumers and retailers may still have the calzones in their freezers. The recall applies to 8-oz. deli trays of “Stefano’s Calzone PEPPERONI FIVE CHEESE STUFFED WITH PEPPERONI AND A FIVE CHEESE BLEND,” with “Lot Code 14318B” on the individual packages and “USE BY DATE 1/18/2019” on the product cases.
