Zombie flash mob dances around Arcata Plaza

It was a normal day in the Arcata Plaza, until a zombie flash mob started just before 1 p.m. this afternoon.

About 90 “zombies” from Sunny Brae Middle School took over the plaza while performing a dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. The 6th through 8th grade students worked on their choreography for about three weeks before their big performance.

The school’s Social Studies Teacher, Ann Youmans, says the flash mob has become a tradition in the community. It is a way for the students to connect to the arts.
