The Coast Guard suspended its search just before 10 this morning, for the 19-year-old HSU student, KeyMaan Stringer, who was swept out to sea.

Stringer was fishing on the North Jetty before he was struck by a sneaker wave around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Coast Guard alongside partnering agencies searched approximately 160 square miles over the span of 16 hours before suspending the search.

Students with HSU seeking support may contact the school’s counseling and psychological services at this number (707) 826-3236.
