College of the Redwoods offers scholarship for homeless students

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM)-The College of the Redwoods launches a Room and Board Scholarship Fund, in an effort to help homeless students.

CR president Keith Snow-Flamer said in a statement, quote “we have students not only couch surfing, but they are living in their cars or camping in the woods behind our college.” end quote. This renewable, semester long scholarship will provide on-campus housing, along with a meal plan in CR’s cafeteria. The college is also launching a campaign to raise $48,000 to cover the scholarship’s meal expenses for the year.
