Chico man arrested after leading deputies on pursuit through Humboldt County

A Chico man is arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit on state route 36 in eastern Humboldt County.

54-year-old, Mark Anthony Brown, was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound on Thursday, and officers say he was seen repeatedly swerving into the eastbound lane.

Sheriff’s deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Bridgeville. They say Brown threw multiple “silver metal objects” out of his vehicle, and onto the roadway. Brown eventually lost control of the car, and crashed into a ditch near Carlotta. He then attempted to flee on foot, but was arrested.

Brown was charged with evading police and resisting arrest, as well as disorderly conduct while under the influence.
