Humboldt Bay Fire mourns loss of former Fire Captain Tom Perrett

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Humboldt Bay Fire is mourning the loss of former Fire Captain Tom Perrett.

He worked with the department from 1964 to 1993, and those who worked with him say he was a strong advocate for protecting his community.

Perrett encouraged several members of his family to also work with the fire service. His son in law, Buddy Salizzoni, brother in law and former Fire Chief Eric Smith, and his nephew, Kyle Brown, currently work as firefighters for the department.

Chief Bill Reynolds, who grew up with Perrett, tells us Humboldt Bay Fire station flags, and all city flags, will be lowered to half-staff in Perrett’s honor Monday through Tuesday.
