Memorial Highway Sign Dedication for late Corporal Rich Schlesiger

LOLETA, Ca. (KIEM) –This afternoon at the Loleta Fire Hall, family and friends gathered for a Memorial Highway Sign Dedication, for the late Corporal Rich Schlesiger.

It was just three years ago when Schlesiger lost his battle with cancer, after serving in law enforcement for 22 years. Most of his career he was spent in the detective bureau, where he was recognized for solving tough cases within the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.

The sign will be placed on Highway 101 between Loleta, and the College of the Redwoods. His wife, children, and the community want to make sure he’s not ever forgotten, for his dedication to keeping others safe.
