California Motorists will have to use caution when passing waste vehicles next year

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca., (KIEM)- As the New Year nears, California highway patrol will be enforcing some new roadway safety laws effective January 1st.

Starting Tuesday you have to use caution when passing Waste Service Vehicles. If you see them with flashing lights on the side of the road you have to move over to the next lane and pass. If you’re driving on a two-way road you must slow down at a reasonable speed when you come across them.

The goal is to protect sanitation workers while they are working and educate the public.
