Eureka, Ca., (KIEM) William Honsal was officially sworn-in as the Humboldt County Sheriff along with new Supervisor-elect Steve Madrone and other county officials.

Employees took their oath with family and friends on hand in the Board of Supervisor’s Chamber.

Honsal has led the sheriff’s office since May of 2017 and said it feels good to have the support of the community.

“This is actually the first time I’ve been elected and sworn in as the elected sheriff, it feels really good,” said the Sheriff. “And I have 4 years to continue to do great things here and work with some great people. You’re going to see us do more community based problem-solving.”
