Orcas spotted in Humboldt Bay

EUREKA, CA (KIEM)-“I can’t believe it. “ Those were the words from Madaket captain Cody Hills.

While aboard the survey boat Eaglet Friday morning, Hills witnessed seven orcas in Humboldt Bay near the North Spit.

Orcas are considered the largest species of the dolphin family. they can weight up to six tons and grow to 23 to 32 feet. That’s almost the size of a school bus.
