California Department of Fish and Wildlife plants over 1.4 million fish into Inland Waters

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM) The California Department of Fish And Wildlife has planted more than 1.4 million fish into inland waters.

The department recently completed its 2019 stocking of fingerling sized Kokanee and Chinook Salmon.

The departments shared effort will provide high-quality angling opportunities in about one to three years after the fish grow to catchable size.

This year’s stocking consisted of releasing 792,942 fingerling Kokanee Salmon into 16 waters and 672,734 sterile, fingerling Chinook salmon into eight waters.

Additional Chinook salmon are scheduled to be released later this fall into lakes Oroville, Shasta, and Trinity.
