Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) The evening of National Night Out has come and gone.
Before nightfall, members of Arcata Police Department, Arcata Fire, families and friends, came out to the 36th Annual National Night Out.
Emergency officials engaged with the community through music, food, and conversation.
National Night Out is a nation-wide campaign to bring police and the people they serve together, under positive circumstances.
“To bring the community and first responders together to build a better relationship,” said K9 Officer, Matthew O’Donovan. “Outside of contacting them while they’re being detained or them being a victim of a crime. This is more of a better atmosphere where we can answer your questions.”
