EUREKA (KIEM) – Humboldt Bay Fire is looking to replace two of their decades old fire trucks and add new ones to their fleet.

Two of their engines date back to 1991. The typical life span for a fire engine is about twenty-five years, but that all depends on the conditions it’s under.

A standard fire truck can cost about $700,000 dollars.

Humboldt Bay Fire SAYS, these trucks will not be purchased through measure z funds. They also say, they hope to have the engines added to their fleet by summer next year.

Humboldt Bay Fire is a joint powers agency through the City of Eureka and Humboldt Number One Fire Protection District.
