DEL NORTE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM)-Del Norte health officials warned the community of a potential COVIE-19 exposure for those who used public transit in Crescent City or to Smith River.

Passengers who traveled on either the Redwood Coast Transit blue-green line in Crescent City or the line from Front Street to Smith River, any day between August 4 and August 12, may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Health officials say, the positive individual did not interact with others which falls within the guidelines for close contact therefore the risk to others is “low”.

However, those who’ve traveled this route between these dates should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19, which are normally fever, cough, and shortness of breath, chills, sore throat, muscle aches, headache, and loss of smell or taste, among other symptoms.

Those who begin to experience symptoms, should arrange for testing or contact their primary care provider and remain home.
