Bicyclist rushed to hospital after being struck by vehicle

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – A bicyclist is rushed to St. Joseph Hospital after being struck by white Toyota Tacoma in Eureka earlier Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Harris and Hubbard streets.

According to CHP, the victim is potentially a juvenile and extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The vehicle involved sustained minimal damage.

Traffic was controlled through the area, causing delays on the eastbound side of Harris, but things returned to normal by 6 p.m.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
