Humboldt County Board of Supervisors issues local emergency due to wildfires

HUMBOLDT COUTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors declares a local emergency Tuesday as a result of wildfires burning in the region.

The August Complex West Zone Fire continues to burn east of the county. The blaze has caused evacuation orders and warnings.

The emergency declaration allows for the county to apply for state and federal funding for fire damage repairs and other associated impacts. The amount of funding depends on the agencies that assist, including the State of California and federal government.
