13th Covid-19 related death, 26 new cases reported in Humboldt County Tuesday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — A 13th Covid-19 related death has been confirmed Tuesday by the Humboldt County Public Health Department. The person was in their 80’s and a resident at Granada Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

26 new cases were also reported with health officials monitoring 340 active cases. The main type of transmission continues to be contact to a known case. 590 cases are still being investigated. There are currently 4 people hospitalized with Covid-19, and 2 of them are in the ICU. Northern California’s ICU capacity is 29.8%The number of recoveries remains unchanged at 968.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, 3 staff members at Sempervirens, the County’s in-patient psychiatric hospital in Eureka, have tested positive for Covid-19. No patients have tested positive. Another round of testing for staff and patients is scheduled for later this week.
