Shooting incident investigation

WEITCHPEC , Ca. (KIEM) – One man is in jail and another is still on the loose after a shooting incident over the weekend near Weitchpec.

Deputies with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office arrested 51 year old Frederick William Lewis, who was charged with assault with a firearm.

31 year old, Derrick Anthony Lewis is still on the loose.  He is wanted on charges of attempted murder.

They’re accused of shooting a 32 year old relative during a confrontation near Upper Cappell Road on Saturday.  The victim was taken to the hospital with non- life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on the location of Derrick Lewis is being asked to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
