The Northern California Community Blood Bank celebrates 70 years

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- The Northern California Community Blood Bank celebrates a significant milestone of 70 years of serving Humboldt and Del Norte counties. They started back in 1951; since then, they have moved locations a few times and have also gone mobile to make it more convenient for donors. You can often see their three bloodmobiles that travel throughout Humboldt and Del Norte.

The Northern California Community Blood Bank will celebrate tomorrow by inviting the public to join them from 8 A.M. to 7 P.M. at the blood center location in eureka the first donors will receive a special gift. They also want to encourage the public to donate blood if they can.

“It’s nice to have something in your life that you can feel is absolutely good about. You know you are helping people, and that’s nice,” Mack Owen, Blood Donor at The Northern California Community Blood Bank.
