15 year old driving car that crashed through fence

Police and fire respond to 2nd crash along Henderson

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, two vehicles crashed into each other at the intersection of Henderson and Union in Eureka.

Eureka Police and Humboldt Bay Fire were already working a fatal traffic crash a few blocks away, and responded to the scene.

The driver of a Ford SUV was trapped inside the vehicle that had overturned in the crash.

Humboldt Bay Fire removed the driver and took them to the hospital for their injuries.

A second car, a silver Honda sedan, crashed through a brick fence in a nearby yard.

The driver and passenger of that car are both 15 years old. They were both hurt in the crash and were transported to the hospital.

In California, you must be 16 years old to obtain a provisional license that allows you to drive alone.

At 15 and a half, you can receive an instructional permit, but that requires a licensed adult over the age of 25 to be in the car while you’re driving.

Police say intoxication does not appear to be involved in this crash.

They haven’t said if any charges will be filed.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crash to call Sergeant Jonathan Eckert at 707-441-4081. They’re looking for the driver of a white vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign on Union Street at the time of the crash.
