Taking care of people, that’s what the nominees for Large Business of the Year have in common. The 2024 awards gala hosted by the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce is to celebrate businesses around our area. Six business categories are being honored, with five nominees in each category.

“We also have our Eureka Large, which, as you can guess, has over ten employees,” said  Nancy Olson, the Eureka Chamber CEO. “And for that we have some really wonderful nominees. We have Advanced Security Systems, Cypress Grove, Eureka Natural Foods,  Premier Financial Group and Quality Body Works. So quite a wide spread of different  businesses in that category.”

These businesses have been around for a while serving our community.

Advanced Security Systems
“Well, this is super exciting,” said Chuck Petrusha, the owner of Advanced Security Systems. “We go about our everyday business, just putting in alarms and providing peace of mind and when we get news like this, we’re very excited.”

Eureka Natural Foods
“Naturally, we’re excited and honored to be nominated for such a grand prize,” said Rick Littlefield, the Eureka Natural Foods President. “We’ve been members of the Eureka Chamber of Commerce for 30 years.”

Premier Financial Group
“Feeling very, very good about it,” said Teresa Conley, the Vice-President of Premier Financial Group. “It’s such an honor to be considered and also be voted on by our peers. We really enjoy living and working in this community, and our clients really have made us successful for over 30 years. So just feeling really blessed and excited.”

Quality Body Works
“It’s really just an honor to be a part of it,” said Ross Creech, the COO of Quality Body Works. “And I think, you know, looking at the other nominations, it’s a common theme, I think, all of these great businesses really put emphasis on taking care of people. And that’s what makes Humboldt County great. It’s what makes these businesses great–It’s something that Quality Body Works, we have always put an emphasis on people, whether that’s our customers, our team or  the community.”

The Cypress Grove– a cheese company, was also nominated for Large Business of the Year.

The Eureka Chamber award gala is this Friday at Redwood Acres starting at 5:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending the award gala, there are a few tickets left on the Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce website.
