Are you looking for a new place to visit this summer?

There’s a little known secret in scotia.

The Humboldt Redwood Fisheries Exhibit was created by the Humboldt Redwood Lumber Company

This exhibit is a quiet little spot along the stretch of 101 South.

At the Humboldt Redwood Fisheries Exhibit, you can walk through an area decorated with waterfalls and trees, an homage to the surrounding timberland of Humboldt County.

The fisheries exhibit showcases the life cycle of a few different kinds of fish, mainly chinook salmon and steelhead trout.

You can see their life cycle as they grow, having different sections displaying the different stages of the fish.

This peaceful little walk-through is right off of the 101, making it a good stop on your way to- or from your summer destinations.

Just don’t pull into the lumber yards main parking and get lost like I did… keep heading down Main St, past the lot and make a sharp left once you reach the houses.
