Humboldt Dash and Splash wants you to bring your canine companions to the county fair.

We always say it’s the most fun you can possibly have with your dog. The dogs. I love the smiles on their faces, and the handlers love it. It’s it’s addicting thing,”  says Jim Williams, president of Humboldt Dash and Splash.

Dash and Splash offers a fun and safe place for dogs to jump in the water.

“The water is much cleaner than the river waters around here anymore, and there’s no algae,” he says.

But your furry friend doesn’t have to jump if they only want to swim in the pool.

In fact, this water here is absolutely crystal clear. But, yeah, that’s another thing that’s good about it. It’s just bringing your dog to swim. It doesn’t have to jump,” he says.

You may be surprised at what your furry friend can do.

We have a couple of dogs that have jumped 25 feet and you know, and that area. my little Dachshund Violet here, years ago. And she’s, she’s ten now, but years ago she did almost ten feet, one inch shy. So that’s pretty impressive for 2 or 3 inch legs,” Williams says.

Humboldt Dash and Splash is on a mission to create interest in Canine activities like dock diving.

“The reason we started the club was there were companies coming here and doing jumps occasionally. And then there was not enough interest. So it wasn’t profitable for them to come here. So we thought we would just create interest and that’s primarily what our goal is,” he says.

And they raise money to help animal agencies.

We’re donating to the Humboldt County Search and Rescue operation for their dogs. And so we help other agencies out. We did the emergency medical fund up with that county shelter,” says Williams.

Humboldt Dash and Splash meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm at Babe’s Pizza and Pasta, 4015 Walnut Drive in Eureka. If you want to bring your dog to the Dash and Splash, contact Jim at 707-845-2473
