One dead, 5 injured in crash near Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)- A Crescent City man is dead after a crash involving a car and motor home near Crescent City. It happened at around 2:30 Sunday afternoon south of the Mill Creek Campground.

A Saturn sedan was traveling northbound on Highway 101 when for unknown reasons, crossed into the southbound lane colliding with a Winnebago.

A 60 year-old man in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 45-year old Miguelina Gonzalez and 18 year-old Rubi Gonzalez, both of Crescent City sustained major injuries. A male juvenile also received moderate injuries. They were all transported to Sutter Coast Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the motor home, 60-year-old Paul Peeples and his passenger, 29-year-old Justine Castro, both of McKinleyville, sustained minor injuries.
