Board of Supervisors, Public Health Ask State to Advance Stage 2 of Re-Opening

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — In a special meeting Tuesday afternoon, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors agrees to send a letter to the state attesting the county is ready for variance to stage 2 of re-opening.

Dr. Frankovich and the Department of Public Health put together a full report demonstrating the county’s readiness.

These include markers such as: the protection of stage 1 essential workers, testing, containment, and hospital capacity, plans for vulnerable populations in case of an outbreak, and a specific plan for how Humboldt will move through stage 2 if the variance is approved by the governor.

St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mad River Community Hospital, and Jerold Phelps community hospital all submitted letters showing their own readiness and support. Most importantly, it outlines triggers for adjusting modifications moving forward.

To view the full report prepared by public health, it can be accessed online on the county website.
