Eureka – The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Redwoods has welcomed a new Executive Director.

Three weeks ago Monica Rose was appointed as the new executive director after their previous director, Liz Smith, was placed on administrative leave and resigned. Rose says she has really enjoyed the position so far and wants to work on building relationships with donors and developing resources.

Currently, she is working on putting together an advisory committee to help fundraise for a new location in Klamath.

Rose has been working for the organization for the past 16 years and says over that time she has built great relationships with the kids involved.

“I know the kids very well and all their families so it’s exciting to be in this position. Our staff is very supportive and our board members have been very supportive, so it’s nice to work together with the board at this level. I think we’ve been doing a lot of good work for a long time so just continuing to focus on providing quality programs and activities for our kids,” says Rose.

The Boys and Girls club will be hosting Cruise in Eureka, a car show fundraiser on September 7th and 9th and then Bids for Kids, a dinner and auction on September 30th
