SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT – It’s ramping up again. Law enforcement is warning the public of an increase in burglary activity in Southern Humboldt.
Early Tuesday morning just after 4, deputies responded to the 200-block of Arthur Road in Garberville. A resident reported an unknown suspect forcibly entered their home and had to be chased off the property. Some personal items were stolen.
Later in the day around 2, another resident just down the street on the 100-block of Country Yard Road had items stolen from their vehicle. Video surveillance caught the theft on film and authorities are searching for the suspect although no name has been released.
In February there were a rash of residential and vehicle thefts. The sheriff’s office reminds the public to always secure locks and report suspicious activity.
