Plans for the Bay: Humboldt Harbor Working Group welcomes Jason Nguyen

Samoa, Ca., (KIEM)- Jason Nguyen has his eyes on developing tourism in Humboldt County. He immigrated to the United States in 1989 from South Vietnam. Since then he’s been an entrepreneur, owning businesses. He moved to the North Coast four years ago, and now owns cabins near Miranda. He’s also looking to purchase and preserve other properties near the waterfront.

Today, Nguyen was the guest speaker at a monthly workshop held by the Humboldt Harbor Working Group. His “fresh eyes” and vision for development on the bay made him a qualified presenter.

“There’s a lot of potential in Humboldt County. It’s a very blooming and growing area. It needs more development. More business. To create more jobs for people here. That’s what’s needed. That’s why I started investing Humboldt.” Nguyen explains.

He supports the growth of public transit, and notes that there’s no shortage of problems in Eureka, but hopes to be part of a force moving forward to promote more commercial growth.
