California Highway Patrol holds community workout in Arcata

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM)- Everyone wearing a badge that reads, “California Highway Patrol” has gone through 6 months of rigorous physical and mental training in academy.

But could you survive a c-h-p work out? That’s what some locals got to find out Saturday morning. They went through a 20 minute academy style workout lead by CHP officers.

While a lot of attendees are interested in joining the ranks of the Highway Patrol the event was a family affair, with kids, fitness gurus, and aspiring officers alike working up a sweat.

This is the second “workout with an officer” day c-h-p has hosted, and they plan to hold more throughout the year.
