Cops and Hops: local law enforcement raises funds for Make-A-Wish

EUREKA, CA. – A fifties-themed bash aimed at raising money to make children’s wishes come true – that’s what local law enforcement agencies were up to Saturday evening while hosting the Cops and Hops fundraiser at The Lodge in Eureka.

The fun included a 50’s costume contest, cocktails, and a silent and live auction – with proceeds going towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Greater Bay Area – a non-profit which grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.

While the evening was one to remember, the cause is what will stick with those who attended.

“We want to give them that last wish. I remember several years ago there was a kid from Humboldt County who had cancer, and Make-A-Wish helped him get to New York City to be apart of the filming of one of the Spiderman movies. That’s what really opened my eyes towards this organization,” said Eureka Acting Sergeant Greg Hall.
