November First Gas Tax and Proposition 69

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- Could the twelve cent gas tax consumers started seeing at the pump be totally constitutionally protected in the coming year?

Supervisor Ryan Sundberg has just returned from a meeting of the California Association of governments. He says support is strong there for “proposition 69.” At present the gas tax funds road maintenance and rehabilitation in the golden state. 60% of that tax is constitutionally protected. Should prop 69 pass, the remaining 40% would also be cemented constitutionally.

According to numbers brought back by Sundberg the SB1 gas tax should help sustain 68 thousand jobs.
