Chemical Release Drill Scheduled in Fortuna

Fortuna, Ca., (KIEM)- If you hear alarms in Fortuna tomorrow, there is no cause for concern. From 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning the fire, police, and city public works department will be conducting chemical release evacuation drills at the wastewater treatment plant and corporation yard on Dinsmore Drive.

The drill will help emergency medical services and city staff prepare for the possible release of hazardous chemicals in the wastewater facility.

What can you expect? Traffic on Dinsmore Drive may slow down in the morning, alarms will sound, and EMS scanner traffic will reflect the drill.
