Chinese restaurant in Eureka closed due to health violations

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Health code violations uncovered at a Chinese restaurant in Eureka are cause for a mandatory closure.

Chinese Gourmet Express in Bayshore Mall was closed on Tuesday after the Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services discovered violations ranging from moldy food, unsafe refrigerator temperatures, and uncleanliness.

In their report, the health department pin pointed 9 violations, which will all have to be corrected before the shop can re-open.

The restaurant has until Friday to make those changes.
