MENDOCINO, LAKE COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) – The Mendocino Complex Fire continues to threaten homes, and force evacuations.

New evacuation orders were put into effect Thursday night, as Cal Fire shared on Twitter.

Officials say every day the erratic nature of the fire pushes it in a new direction.

Made up of the Ranch and River fires, combined the complex sits at over 125,168 acres as of Thursday night, and is 39% contained.

Ground crews are working to build up lines hoping to save homes from the flames, but despite warnings, some people have refused to evacuate. Others have been in a shelter for days.
