Fortuna woman dies in head-on collision in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY – A Fortuna woman has died in a head-on traffic collision in Lake County.
57-year-old Donna Jean Farfan was driving a Ford sedan on State route 20 near Clearlake Oaks around 1:00 in the afternoon on New Year’s Eve.
For unknown reasons Farfan allowed the Ford to cross in to oncoming traffic striking a Chevrolet.
Farfan was declared deceased on scene.
A male and female passenger, both of Elk Grove, were treated at a local hospital for major injuries.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. CHP is investigating.
