Failing Grades: Humboldt, Del Norte ‘Tobacco Control Report’ results are in

HUMBOLDT, DEL NORTE COUNTIES, CA. – The American Lung Association in California released their annual State of Tobacco Control Report, and says Humboldt and Del Norte counties need to do better.

The report assigns grades to all 58 counties and 482 incorporated cities and towns throughout the state based on their smoking restrictions, and efforts being made to reduce tobacco smoking.

Humboldt and Del Norte counties earned “F” grades for having no tobacco control policies in place.

However, city by city – Arcata, Blue Lake, Eureka and Fortuna earned C’s, and Blue Lake and Fortuna were noted for being ‘cities on the rise for improving local tobacco control policies’.
