Rohnerville Roll-over Driver Arrested for DUI

Fortuna, Ca., (KIEM)- Traffic was interrupted on Rohnerville Road in Fortuna Sunday after a roll-over crash involving a Gray 2017 Nissan Sentra.

The driver has been identified as a 28-year-old Fortuna man. Jacob Micheal Johnson was taken to St. Joseph Hospital to be treated for trauma, despite his arrest he is still receiving treatment and is in stable condition. He’s been charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police had been called to Newburg Road after a reckless driver was reported, shortly after Johnson would crash his car.

The Fortuna Police Department issues this statement, “The department would like to remind drivers that just like drunk driving, driving under the influence of drugs is a crime – even if your impairment is due to prescribed medications, illicit drugs, over-the-counter medications or marijuana – medical or recreational.”
