Rio Dell man killed in logging accident

RIO DELL, CA. (KIEM) – One man is dead after a logging accident in Rio Dell.

Rio Dell Police, Rio Dell Fire and the Humboldt County coroner responded to the accident.

Before 5:30PM on Monday, the victim was using a chainsaw on his property, just behind Monument Road and Redwood Avenue.

While he was working, a large log fell on the man, causing major injuries.

He was pronounced dead on scene.

The identity of the victim is currently being withheld.
