The future of HACHR to be decided at next Eureka City Council Meeting

Eureka., Ca (KIEM) For the City of Eureka, the Humboldt Area Center for Harm Reduction and their services have been a popular topic of discussion.

Even after HACHR presented their quarterly report three weeks ago, the council still has concerns about syringe exchange. At this Tuesdays’ City Council meeting there will be a report from stake holders. They’ll talk about what’s been done since last fall, to reduce needle litter. The council is also encouraging the public to come forward and voice their concerns.

Also on the agenda council will discuss the “H” and “I” street corridor plan… Which may reduce those three lane streets to two lane streets and the possibility for designated cannabis consumption areas within the city.
