Harrison arraigned for Southern Humboldt murder

EUREKA, Calif (KIEM)- Zachary Harrison faces charges of first-degree murder, and a special weapons allegation, that could land him behind bars for life.

The 28 year-old Southern Humboldt man gave up his right to a jury trial within 60 days of arraignment.

During the preliminary hearing, Tory Hennings testified that last September, Harrison pointed a rifle at him, and then shot 58-year-old Robert James Holtsclaw, as he sat in his pickup truck on Sixth Street in Alderpoint. According to Hennings, no words were exchanged before Harrison pulled the trigger.

Harrison’s next court date is set for November 7.
