ARCATA, Ca. (KIEM) – Charges are filed against 20-year-old Samantha Luna following a violent exchange with Humboldt State University Police in June of this year. Several officers are joined on the complaint, including Officer Janelle Jackson.

The video has been viewed millions of times online, sparking controversy on topics of race and police violence.

Charges filed against Luna include giving a false ID to a peace officer, disorderly conduct under the influence, battery of an officer, and four charges of resisting arrest.

On Wednesday, Luna wrote on Facebook, “…this is only the beginning to an ongoing legal battle. I am confident in the courts ability to judge in an impartial manner.”
