Brian Ahearn selected as new Arcata Police Chief

ARCATA, CA. (KIEM)- A new Police Chief will soon be appointed to Arcata’s Police Department. Brian Ahearn was selected to take the lead of the Arcata Police Department.

Ahearn has over 30 years of law enforcement experience, beginning as an officer recruit with the San Diego Police Department. He’s served as an Assistant Chief for investigations in 2017, and more recently, served as a commanding officer among homicide, gang, and robbery crime units.

He will start the job, after the ratification of his employment contract at a special meeting November 9th at noon, in Arcata council chambers.
