Humboldt firefighters use “jaws of life” after crash in Eureka

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)– Firefighters with Humboldt Bay Fire conducted a vehicle extrication after a traffic collision on 6th and I St. in Eureka just after 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The first vehicle, with major damage, was blocking the intersection with one person inside. Fire crew used the “Jaws of Life” to free the door. The patient was transported to the local hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

The second vehicle had moderate damage and the occupants were able to self-extricate, who also declined treatment.
