Eureka Public Works will extend restoration deadline for hazardous home

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Controversy over a hazardous home in Eureka plans to be resolved later this year.

Keith Combs currently owns the 2-story house on California Street. In 2010, the house fell off its foundation and for several years its been deemed unsafe and is in need of restoration. Keith claims he’s been working on it. But due to several complications, the restoration project has been delayed. The City of Eureka Public Works Department is being forced to put a final deadline before demolishing the property.

Combs claims his neighbors support him in the restoration project. Combs also has the support of the Historic Preservation Committee.
