Carlotta man arrested for DUI, hit-and-run injury crash

CARLOTTA (KIEM)- One man is arrested in a hit-and-run crash with injuries in eastern Humboldt.

It happened Thursday at around 4:30 in the afternoon. 31 year-old Carson Hatcher of Carlotta was driving a Ford pickup eastbound on State Route 36.

The truck went off the roadway and 30 year-old Jilene Minton also of Carlotta who was riding in the bed of the truck was ejected. She sustained major injuries and was taken to Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna.

Hatcher fled the scene but was later located on Fox Creek Road. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and felony hit-and-run.

Another passenger, Dawson Phillips was uninjured in the crash.
