Food and Gift Card Drive For Federal Workers and Families Affected by Government Shutdown

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – President Trump announced a temporary end to the government shutdown. But despite the halt, many federal workers and their families are still struggling.

Cooperation Humboldt and the Central Labor Council organized a food and gift card distribution. Over seventy families were helped. Workers from the TSA, Coast Guard, National Weather Service, and FAA came to the drive. They picked up supplies such as food, gift cards, and even everyday household products.

Cooperation Humboldt says, if the shutdown happens again after February 15^th, they will organize another drive.
