Flooding continues on several roads off Elk River Road

Elk River, Ca., (KIEM) Rainwater continues to rise just off of Elk River Road, parts of Zane and Berta Road were completely submerged underwater.

Residents who live on the other side took a chance to drive through the flood while others decided to turn around until the flooding stops.

One man tells redwood news this is a familiar sight to him once rainfall gets heavy.

Keith Martin shared that his mother’s property almost always gets a big hit

“Like today and tomorrow, you got to keep an eye on the water as it rises,” said Martin. “You have to keep your valuable things out of the trail of the river coming up and my kids don’t go to school because of the flooding…my family is in their house watching the river rise, I keep in contact with them.”
