Kistler found guilty of attempted murder

EUREKA- A Eureka man was found guilty by a jury of attempted murder.

The jury also found that 35-year old Nicholas Kistler used a deadly weapon and inflicted great bodily injury on the victim.

The incident happened in April of 2017 on the Arcata Plaza. Kistler disguised himself wearing a bandanna and approached the seated victim and struck him in the head twice with a hammer fracturing the victim’s skull.

Judge Christopher Wilson presided over the two-week trial.

 Kister will be sentenced April 15 and faces 11 years to life in prison.
