Home on Edgewood Road is damaged after it catches on fire

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – The inside of a home is damaged by smoke after it catches on fire.

It happened around 3 this afternoon on the 3400 block of Edgewood Road in Eureka. The house was up in smoke when Humboldt Bay Fire crews arrived on scene.

It took crews about ten minutes to put out the blaze. Humboldt Bay Fire did a primary and a secondary search of the residence.  According to them, they did not find anyone inside.

The cause of how the fire started is currently under investigation.
